SAMA NEWS

From SAMA
PCNS up for debate at private practitioner workshop
The ongoing debate regarding the Practice Code Numbering System (PCNS) to which all practices are obliged to contribute, is one of the hot topics on the agenda of a meeting of SAMA private practice committees on February 16.
A combined workshop for the General Practitioner and Specialist Private Practice Committees has been scheduled for February 16 and 17 to develop strategic direction for the private practice unit and the committees in the short-, medium- and longer-term. A draft strategic plan will be compiled and submitted to the SAMA Board of Directors for consideration and approval. The objective of this activity is to position SAMA in pro-actively influencing the future development of, among others:

coding structures;
pricing and NHRPL processes; and
practice cost studies.
The Private Practice Unit will develop an operational plan to implement the strategies agreed on at the workshop. Enquiries: Dr Monwabisi Gantsho on 012 481 2027 or monwabisig@samedical.org
